Summary[]
At school, a group of popular students are playing the "Saitu-San Game" as Tadano and Komi watch from afar, as Komi wants to join in. Tadano suggests that she goes over, but realising that the group is composed of "cooler" students, it'd be difficult to blend in, so suggests that they have a game after school with Najimi and Agari (The Socially Inadequate Group). However, Najimi, with their advanced communicating skills, hears Tadano and invites Komi to join their current game. The group are excessively overjoyed at Komi joining them.
Najimi again tells Tadano that drastic action will help Komi, and accuses him of letting Komi go alone to be embarrassed. Tadano sheepishly asks the group if he can join the game. The group seemingly are happy and inviting, but Tadano, who excels at reading people's true feelings, knows that the group despises him.
The group plays an easier game, the Gyuutan Game, which Komi quickly loses as it relies on communication, and Yubisuma, which the group lets Komi win. Najimi, scheming again, adds a punishment for losing a game called Takenoko Nyokki, to make a "kissy face". Predictably, everyone wants to see Komi's kissy face, and are determined to win. They all cooperate by speaking in sequence, leaving only Tadano and Komi. The group silently beg Tadano to win, as Komi is too nervous to speak her turn.
Tadano admittedly also wants to see Komi's kissy face, but doesn't want her to experience something so embarrassing. He hopes that Komi will speak "7-Nyokki!" but she doesn't really understand the rules of the game. Komi seemingly can't win if she doesn't speak before Tadano, but he figures a way for him to lose, although reluctantly. Tadano says "8-Nyokki...", the wrong statement, making him lose, as he shamefully shows his kissy face.
As class starts again, Tadano, humiliated and hated by his classmates, sits silently at his desk. Komi asks if he is ok, and apologies for his embarrassment, but stating that the game was fun. Najimi teases Tadano for his kissy face to be shown later, giving him another painful wave of embarrassment.
