Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu Wiki

I'm Ren 4! is the twenty-sixth chapter of Tomohito Oda's Komi Can't Communicate.

Summary[]

At school, Komi and Tadano sit silently in class, as even Tadano has difficulty reading her emotions. She writes on her notepad if she and Tadano could speak alone.

At the staircase, Komi writes, questioning, if it is fine for her to be friends with him. Tadano is confused, so Komi explains how he went through the ordeal of being kidnapped by Yamai, and how she apparently did it for Komi's sake. She shows Tadano a transcript of the whole conversation with Yamai, with an analysis included, which Tadano is impressed by. Komi thinks of hypotheticals, of what could have and what might happen again, because of her, so she thinks it would be best if she and Tadano were not friends anymore. As she writes this, she cannot meet his eyes, instead holding the notepad up to her face.

Tadano understands, but he uses a quote from Komi, about how he will decide his own friends. Both are embarrassed by this statement, but Komi has no counter retort. Komi writes that she apologizes, and then, for the first time, she purposefully speaks face to face with Tadano, slowly stammering that she wants to be friends with him too (again, both are embarrassed).

Suddenly, Najimi and Yamai appear, as Najimi explains that Yamai wants to apologize. She makes a poor attempt, more apologizing for the fact that she said things then denying that she meant them. Regardless, Tadano accepts the apology. Yamai also apologizes to Komi for being selfish and trying to decide who she's friends with, as Komi writes a simple "OK". Yamai considers that answer as her not being worthy of being addressed to, holding a knife to her face, bawling her eyes out, and saying that there's no point in being alive. Najimi restrains Yamai, as Tadano explains that Komi is simply bad at communicating. Yamai instantly stops crying to point the knife at Tadano, telling him that he's lying.

After they explain, Yamai realises that it was a big misunderstanding, and gushes over Komi having a cute side. Komi briefly thinks, before asking if Yamai wants to be her friend. Yamai, overjoyed, agrees, and promises to "fix" Komi's communication disorder (a term Tadano was deliberately avoiding).

Yamai briefly imagines playing in a field with Komi, before threatening Tadano again.
