Komi's friends are the friends Komi Shouko makes over the course of the series. Her goal is to make 100 prior to graduating from Itan Private High School(which she ultimately achieved on Chapter 499), and it serves as the primary drive of the series' plot.

Each of the friends are listed in a book procured by the second friend, Najimi Osana. When each person becomes friends with Komi, they write their name in the book. Friends are typically Komi's classmates, but can be other people Komi encounters outside of school. The only clear people excluded from the book are Komi's family members, such as her cousin, Komi Akira.

In Chapter 416, all characters appeared with their respective number in "Komi's book of friends" up to that point. The given chapters are when they are highlighted by the manga, and does not necessarily correspond to their debut or to when Komi befriends them.

Characters with (*) are confirmed as friends off-screen or implied to be.

Trivia[]

  • Due to the anime reordering certain events, some friends are listed in a different order than they are in the manga:
    • In the manga, Yadano Makeru is the fourth friend and Yamai Ren is the fifth friend, but in the anime this is reversed.
    • Similarly, in the manga Katai Makoto is the fourteenth friend and Chocolate is the fifteenth friend, but in the anime this is reversed.
  • During a 90 Q&A made to the author Tomohito Oda for the official fanbook, when asked the reason why Inaka Nokoko was not listed on Komi's friends list, he replied that because she lost her chance.
    • However, as of Chapter 486, Inaka had a second chance and wrote down her name on Komi's list, becoming her 98th friend.
