Komi Masayoshi (
Appearance[]
Masayoshi is seen as a dandy middle-aged man with dark hair and glasses, covering his eyes.
Although, in Episode 7 of the anime, his eyes are shown to be dark purple, much like his wife and children.
Personality[]
Like Shouko and Shousuke, Masayoshi rarely speaks and has social anxiety. Like his daughter, Masayoshi struggles to express himself verbally and can at times be easily flustered.
Complementary to his wife's youthful attitude, Masayoshi often appears mature and stoic. While he may come across as stern, he is often shown to be kind, considerate and supportive.
Like his son, Masayoshi tends to make up for his lack of communication with strong actions and is generally talented in a variety of skills, including baking, woodworking, motorcycle riding, and sandcastle construction. Despite his stoic expression, he is adept at non-verbal communication and often holds silent conversations with his children, much to Shuuko's amusement.
Etymology[]
- Komi means "old, antiquity, ancient time, used, secondhand" (古) (ko) and "see, hopes, chances, idea, opinion, look at, visible" (見) (mi).
- Masayoshi means "leader, commander, general, admiral, or, and again, soon, from now on, just about" (将) (masa) and "congratulations, joy" (賀) (yoshi).

- Despite his silent demeanor, Masayoshi did get along well with Tadano,[1] as well as Tadano's father.[2]
