Ramen Darou is the chain restaurant that Shouko, Tadano, Najimi, and Agari visit in Chapter 28, due to Shouko's dream being to visit a ramen shop.
The shop has been picking up fame and has a perceived image as a place for people to come and eat alone. Despite the reputation that the store's portions are big and oily, Himiko says the taste isn't that strong actually.
Ramen Darou has five "Iron Rules":
- Thou shalt not speak.
- Thou shalt immediately buy your ticket and promptly take your seat.
- Thou shalt uphold manners, respect the shopkeeper and wait with peace of mind.
- Thou shalt not touch your cell phone.
- Thou shalt return your bowl once you finish eating and immediately give up your seat.
The Shopkeeper[]
The Shopkeeper (店長) is the cook and owner of Itan's Ramen Darou. He speaks extremely quietly, and is also bad at communicating. Due to also being bad at communicating, he shares an empathy between Shouko and much like her family, can have a conversation without speaking.
He reappears in Chapter 65, where he lets Shouko put up a poster for Itan High's Cultural Festival in the shop (again without speaking).
